Albania congratulates election of key institutional leaders in Kosova

TIRANA, Jan. 10 – Albania on Wednesday hailed Kosova’s new leaders and the deal between the winning Democratic Party of Prime Minister-designate Hashim Thaci and the former governing Democratic League of Kosova to create a new government cabinet.
Kosova’s new parliament approved Thaci’s new cabinet and also re-elected President Fatmir Mediu in the post and Jakup Krasniqi of the Democratic Party as its Speaker.
All Albania’s top personalities _ President Bamir Topi, Parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli, Prime Minister Sali Berisha and opposition Socialsit Party leader Edi Rama hailed the new Kosova officials who would take the province toward its independence, probably next month.
The Foreign Ministry considered the agreement between the two Kosova parties a closing and important step of the successful process of the November 17 elections in Kosova, according to a statement.
“The Foreign Ministry Šwishes full success in fulfilling the century-old mission and aspiration of the Kosova citizens for an independent, democratic and integrated Kosova in the European and Euro-Atlantic structures,” said the statement.
