TIRANA, July 28 – Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha sent a telegram of condolences to the Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan for all the victims of the last terrorist attacks in Istanbul and also denouncing them as “ugly terrorist attacks.”
Premier Berisha was convinced that Turkish authorities would give the deserved response to the authors of that ugly crime and of those inhuman acts, according to a statement.
Seventeen people were killed and 150 injured Sunday in twin bomb blasts in a crowded Istanbul square, an attack that Turkish officials blamed on Kurdish rebels.
The blasts occurred on the eve of a Turkish court’s deliberations on whether to ban the Islamic-oriented ruling party for allegedly trying to undermine secularism, and the timing raised questions about whether there was a link. (Tirana Times Staff)
