TIRANA, Jan 20 -Albania has, at last, appointed an ambassador to Kosova.
Though more than 11 months after Kosova’s declaration of independence have passed, Albania had not yet officially sent its ambassador to Prishtina.
Though Prime Minister Sali Berisha announced that Islam Lauka was the country’s new ambassador only two days after Kosova independence, the procedure took 11 months to finish.
On Monday the president formally nominated Islam Lauka as Tirana’s ambassador to Prishtina.
Lauka is an experienced diplomat and Kosovo expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Until now, the embassy in Prishtina was headed by charge d’affairs Arben Ceku, who has delayed his move to neighboring Skopje to another post.
