Albania issues first ever Euro denominated t-bills

Tirana, Dec. 22 – The central Bank of Albania (BoA) announced last Friday that it had successfully issued the first ever Euro denominated treasury bills. Diversifying currency of Albania’s public debt and introducing a longer maturity average are the main priority in managing debt for the government, according to a statement by the BoA. Five different offers from local banks, out of 19, were accepted in the special bid on Thursday. Total traded volume was 45 million euro. Euro denominated treasury bills have a maturity of 273 days and an average yield of 5.024 percent.
