TIRANA, July 11 – Kosovo’s Diaspora Minister Ibrahim Makolli visited the V쳭ic롢order crossing point last weekend where he also met with neighboring Albanian police and custom officials to discuss joint efforts to facilitate more efficient movement of persons at the busy crossing point.
Hundreds of thousands of Kosovars usually cross the border at summer time to go to the Albanian shore for vacation. In addition, many Kosovars living abroad pass through Albania to go back to their homeland for vacation.
“We are looking to assist the many immigrants coming to Kosovo with as much flexibility as the law allows,” said Makolli.
During the summer season, both countries impose the one-point check, that is, those going to Kosovo are checked only by the Kosovar police, while those entering Albania only by the Albanian police.
