TIRANA, May 19 – Lawmaker Aleksander Biberaj of the governing Democratic Party supported the idea of lifting the veto right at the Untied Nations.
Biberaj made the statement at a visit he held in Sweden as head of the parliamentary group at the Council of Europe Parliament. During the visit Biberaj met with many international officials of the U.N. and the Council of Europe participating at the meeting there. Biberaj supported the lifting of the veto right taking into consideration the fact that Russia used that right to block the U.N. Security Council from deciding in favor of an independent Kosova.
