Albania thanks Islamic countries on Kosovo resolution

TIRANA, June 1- Albanian Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha met with the ambassadors of countries of the Organization of Islamic Conference accredited in Tirana – Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, Libya, Palestine and Turkey – to thank them of their support on the resolution on Kosovo, the tiny Balkan country managed to pass muster at the Ministerial meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference held last month in Syria.
Basha said the resolution was of special significance as the 57-member organization recognized the recent developments in Kosovo, its independence and the establishment of institutions that have maintained peace and stability in the region.
Basha also praised the willingness expressed by all member countries of the Organization to support Kosovo and its economy and the call of the Ministerial of Damascus for all the international community to continue to support Kosovo.
