TIRANA, Nov. 21 – Albania will likely be much cleaner this Friday, as its people have been called in a nationwide operation to get rid of trash.
The green initiative has been undertaken from a civic organization, Green Line Albania, and is also supported by government authorities. All Albanians have been called to help, give assistance to clean their areas.
Special places of trash collection have been set. Anyone may be part of the operation any time of the day, according to organizers.
They also called that such an initiative turn into a regular move be it nationwide or local.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has said that all Albanians should be ashamed of the trash dumps along the national roads, something which pushes away the tourists, considered as main resource of income for the tiny western Balkan country with its long seaside area.
