TIRANA, April 10 – Montenegrin press reported how their country had exported weapons from Albania.
Podgorica-based daily Dan reported that in 2008 and 2009 Montenegro imported obsolete weapons from Albania which it sold to third countries.
They also referred to a report of the Albanian Defense Ministry presented to the parliament that Montenegro had imported about 170,000 shells.
The Montenegrin media wrote that was done despite the information that after gaining its independence in 2006, Montenegro had in its military depots thousands of tons of military equipment which should have been destroyed.
According to the daily, the Montenegrin Ministry of Defense confirmed it was true that the country’s military-technical industry had imported weapons from Albania, repaired them in factories in Montenegro, and then exported them to third countries.
