TIRANA, Oct 27 – Forty-eight Albanian ambassadors in the world convened in capital Tirana for a five-day meeting with top leaders to discuss ways of taking the country ahead in its democratic developments.
The regular annual meeting also served for the government to introduce the main targets in its international policy.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha urged them to try to become Albania’s business representatives in the world as foreign direct investment was much needed in this post-communist country.
During their first day of work the ambassadors were also hailed from visiting Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini.
Other international officials were also expected during the week, like Czech Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe Stuart Jones, Finish Vice Foreign Minister Marcus Lyra and other senior personalities.
