Albanian man arrested on U.S. drug trafficing charges

TIRANA, March 11 – Albanian police say they have arrested a man wanted in the United States on drug trafficking charges. Police did not report the details of Armand Mara’s arrest, but issued a statement Tuesday, saying he would be extradited to the United States.
Mara, who also went by the name Goni Brraka, 37, was wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of a criminal organization trafficking of some 50 kilograms of cocaine from California to Boston from 2010 to 2012. A Massachusetts court had issued an international arrest warrant for him in
November 2012.
