TIRANA, Sept. 13 – Albanian and Serbian non-governmental organizations held a joint meeting Sunday to consolidate and widen their cooperation.

The meeting was initiated by Sweden’s Olof Palme International Center Albania.

Social Affairs Minister Blendi Klosi, U.S. and Swedish diplomats, representatives from the Serbian youth ministry and more took part at the meeting of some 60 NGOs from both countries.

Such meetings are also part of the efforts started with the Berlin process trying to make a general reconciliation in the former war-torn region starting with the two largest countries – Serbia and Albania.

That also serves as a test to Europe at a time when the six western Balkan countries, including Albania and Serbia, have all set their European integration as a main target to their future.
