Albanian students depart for the exchange and study project in U.S.

TIRANA, Aug. 25 – The US embassy in Tirana reports that nine Albanian youths selected to be Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program students departed to the United States.
The YES program is sponsored by the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
Albanian students selected to participate in the YES program are chosen for their leadership potential, English language proficiency, personal characteristics and desire to study in the United States.
The students will begin a year-long academic exchange program where they will live with American families and study with American students in U.S. high schools.
This year’s students will live in Texas, Wisconsin, Missouri, Maryland, Ohio, and New York.
Since 2009, nearly 40 Albanian students have participated in the YES program.
