Albanian towns suffer from drinking water pollution

TIRANA, May 12 – Local media reports that, on the brink of the start of the tourism season, drinking water in many cities throughout the country has become contaminated. The Institute for Public Health has documented that drinking water in Milot, Kelcyre, Peshkopi and Lezha has become contaminated, mainly due to the outdated water-supply network. Officials say other small towns also suffered from the same problem. However, drinking water within Tirana has bee described as safe.(Tirana Times Staff)
