VERONA, Nov. 24 – Italian police seized in February 12.5 kilograms of heroin and also arrested two Albanians. That allowed the police in Verona to make a trip back which led to discover a gang that ran a drug trafficking from Albania to Italy.
The traffic route used trucks to transport drugs.
The Albanians were in charge of transporting it into Italy while North Africans took care of storing the heroin.
It is assumed that the organization has handled a total of one hundred kilograms of heroin.
During the investigations police also arrested another Albanian with 20 grams of cocaine.
Top policeman Vincenzo Stingone spoke of the “extraordinary effort”. “Organized crime must know that we’re there,” he said.
