TIRANA, Jan 12 – Albania’s road toward integration into the European Union passes through Athens, according to Greek lawmaker Nicholas Pandoulas while speaking at a ceremony for the 18th anniversary of the Omonia ethnic-Greek minority organization.
Deputy Greek foreign minister Teodoris Kassimis, other Greek diplomats and local heads of Omonia, the Human Rights Union Party and other groups were present at the ceremony held in Dervician village in Gjirokastra district.
This week the Greek parliament is expected to pass the Stabilization and Association Agreement that Albania signed with the EU three years ago. It is the last EU member country to pass the agreement.
