albtTIRANA, Sept. 17 – Turkish-owned ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile has officially launched its 4G/LTE, IPTV, fixed and mobile services.

In a gala ceremony held this week, Erkan Tabak, the CEO of ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile, described the launch of the new services as a new era for the company.

“I am very happy to introduce our ultra-fast technology 4G/LTE together with what we call the VIP services to meet the needs of our customers. Yes, our business has to do with technology. But our passion is something else. Our passion is to touch people’s lives and to change it for the better. In this journey, the Albanian state has given us great support. And I want to express my gratitude for this,” said Dr. Tabak.

Giuseppe Farina, the Chairman of the Board of ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile, described telecommunication as a strategic sector for the further development of the Albanian economy. “ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile is here to support this development and to give a contribution to Albania in the road of integration to European Union. à‡alik Holding, which invested in more than 17 countries in the world, as majority shareholder of ALBtelecom is ready to strongly support the company in order to bring the best infrastructure in the country.”

Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi said Albanians are lucky for the presence of ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile which has given a boost to technology and serve as an important indicator for the economic development.

“But above all this innovation carries moral and patriotic value of being in the same step with the developed countries of Europe. Before 2-3 years,   three-quarters of European countries had no access to 4G, while in the U.S. 90 percent of the population accessed the 4 G services,” said the deputy Prime Minister.

“ALBtelecom is as old as the Albanian state itself, dating right after the Independence of Albania, and licensed for fixed telephone and the Internet services in 1992 by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. It continues to be an important part of communications of Albanians, being part of history of the country, – he added.

ALBtelecom and Eagle Mobile is the only company that offers the full range of modern telecommunications services in the country. This is the only company that can supply fixed telephony, mobile telephony and Internet 4G/LTE, broadband Internet, television, IPTV, public WiFi Internet and Cloud services for any part of the Albanian society, public institutions, businesses, media, NGOs and every individual in the country, the company said in a statement.
