AMC celebrates 10 years as Cosmote Group member

TIRANA, Dec. 13 – AMC, the leading mobile operator in Albania celebrated last weekend ten successful years of being member of Cosmote Group. In a special reception organized at the National Gallery of Arts, AMC invited its friends from all aspects of social life to share the achievements of these years. Prominent people from the government and politics, the business world and the media, were all there for the occasion.
The evening started with a speech by Stefanos Oktapodas, the former CEO of AMC and the man who led the company successfully for the past decade. In his heartfelt words he talked about a decade of productive work that changed the telecommunications environment of Albania. He then introduced the new CEO, Dimitris Blatsios, who mentioned in his speech amongst others that “AMC has been and will always be a major contributor in covering the primary social need, which is communication”. He also elaborated on the future of AMC saying that “We will face the challenging environment with our focus on consumers and society”.
Prior to joining AMC, Dimitris Blatsios was Executive Chief Commercial Officer in Globul, Cosmote’s subsidiary in Bulgaria since March 2009 and General Manager in Germanos Telecom Romania, since October 2006.
During the last ten years, AMC is a leader of the Telecommunications Market in Albania, by offering one decade ago quality in the daily communication needs of its subscribers, starting with voice calls, SMS and MMS, and continuing to provide innovative products and services such as the range of Business Solutions, effective mobile internet and recently the Blackberry and the iPhone.
AMC has all this time demonstrated that it not only pays attention to the needs of its customers but also knows how important it is to show respect to social and environmental issues. Many times AMC has been in the forefront of Corporate Social Responsibility through the procedures and actions taken within the company as well as the creative initiatives that implement projects for the benefit of parts of the society.
The past 10 years of AMC belonging to the Cosmote Group have nurtured innovation and progress. The future will bring new challenges which the company is ready to face successfully.
