TIRANA, May 10 – Mobile operator AMC has recently supported the reconstruction of the Queen Geraldine Obstetric Gynecology University Hospital. Health Minister Petrit Vasili, hospital director Halim Kosova, and AMC Corporate Affairs Manager Nikos Parastatidis attended the inauguration ceremony.
The surgery rooms were reconstructed thanks to the funds of Ministry of Health and the special contribution of AMC. About 2400 surgical operations per year are expected to be performed in this hospital.
The Head of the Queen Geraldine Hospital, Halim Kosova, said during the ceremony that “the reconstructed premises now enjoy modern conditions for emergency and pre-planned surgical operations in pregnant women. Now the intraoperatory infections are prevented and the working conditions are more comfortable for the medical personnel. AMC has given a special contribution to improve the conditions in these rooms. This company has supported for years reconstruction projects in our hospital, including reconstruction of the emergency service in birth ward. Thanks to these investments we now can offer more qualitative and professional services.”
On behalf of AMC, Nikos Parastatidis, commented that “creating and developing infrastructures helpful for our society is a priority for AMC. Together with Mr. Kosova we have implemented projects that have improved the conditions in this hospital, helping the new lives born here. It’s a unique pleasure to be part of projects that create a better environment for the newborn babies and their mothers. AMC will continue to support projects that aim at modernizing and using new technologies to improve the health system.”
This reconstruction will increase health safety for the patients and will reduce the use of antibiotics in post operation phase.
