TIRANA, April 27 – Albanian police have achieved success in arresting some wanted persons accused of different charges.
Two persons _ Shefqet Vreto, 60, and Manushaqe Elezi, 56 _ were arrested in eastern Pogradec city Monday. They were sentenced to imprisonment in 1990 from the Elbasan district court for a murder they had committed in 1989. They had left the prison during the anarchic year of 1997 when state collapsed within days following the fall of the failed pyramid investment schemes, where poor Albanians lost all their life savings.
The two persons lived in Thessaloniki, Greece with different names.
Police also arrested Tuesday Gjovalin Ndue Gjoka, 29, declared at large in 2010 after he was under an arrest warrant for a murder and also illegal weapon possession.
