Austria lifts visa requirements for state passport holders

TIRANA, Dec. 29 – Albanian Foreign Ministry announced Friday last week that those Albanian holders of state and diplomatic passports would need no more visa to enter the country. That was made known through a written note sent to the Albanian embassy in Vienna. That is based on an agreement both countries have signed since June 1992. it was first applied but then temproarily cancelled. That enters into force Jan. 1 this year. The foreign minsitry also added that is the result of their work. The governmetn will soon issue new passports with more security elements and law enforcement authorities have better monitored border crossings.
