VLORA, Dec. 13 – Two armed and masked persons robbed a bank in the southwestern port city of Vlora on Monday.
They got a certain amount of money and managed to flee without any resistance. They exploited a moment about lunch time when there was a relatively calm situation around.
Witnesses reported they saw a Kalashnikov automatic rifle let near the bank after the robbery.
Investigation has been launched by police.
Meanwhile in another operation in capital Tirana police arrested four persons and declared a fifth one wanted at large accusing them of a bank robbery earlier this year.
The suspects are also considered authors of four other bank robberies in the last three years.
In southeastern Korca police arrested Ervin Dushi, 23, who was wanted for raping an infant. He is accused of raping a teenager in the Bucimas village.
While in northern Lezha police arrested Astrit Bushi, 32, and found also a pistol and bullets of ammunition he had. Bushi is considered a dangerous person. He violently resisted the arrest threatening the life of the policemen, a statement said.
Besides some charges in his homeland, Bushi is also wanted from Spanish authorities where he is accused of violent theft and participation in criminal organizations involved in drug traffic.
