FIER, Feb. 9 – About a dozen residents in the village of Zharrez in the southwestern district of Fier have entered a hunger strike over the oil drilling operations and underground explosions carried out by Bankers Petroleum, which they say have damaged homes and made the village uninhabitable. Residents of Zharrez entered the strike almost seven days ago, following dozens of earthquake-like tremors of suspected to have been caused by underground drilling operations.
