Banks in efforts to attract deposits

TIRANA, April 15 – The International Commercial Bank Albania (ICB ) announced that following winning the award as The Bank of the year 2008 in Albania from the Bankers magazine, this year it has won yet another award of the Best Bank in Albania for 2009 from Global Finance Magazine published in New York.
As a promotional incentive it also offered to its customers some special offers on their deposits.
In another move ProCredit Bank offered new products in an effort for domestic businesses to attain credit.
To better fulfill its customers needs ProCredit Bank has recently opened four new business units, three in the capital and one in northern Koplik.
Following the recent global financial crisis all the banks have set stricter lending procedures. On one side it has often been difficult to get a loan from banks and on the other side interest rates have risen significantly.
