TIRANA, June 7 – Foreign Minister Lulzim Basha thanked Robert Silberstein, the visiting Deputy Director for Central and South Europe at the US Department of State, for Washington’s support in receiving the NATO membership invitation at the Bucharest summit in April.
The two officials also discussed Albania’s latest political and economic developments. Albania considers the U.S. to be its strategic partner. Basha presented to the guest the government’s focus on electoral reform, reform in the judicial system, and the fight against corruption and organized crime, which are considered main priorities.
