Basha welcomes German support

TIRANA, Nov. 28 – Chairman of Albania’s Democratic Party Lulzim Basha has welcomed the support of Germany for Albania’s path to European Union integration. Following the meeting of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, the main opposition Democratic Party chairman said that Albania should be grateful to Germany’s support.

“Albania is fortunate to have the support of Germany in its efforts to make progress towards EU integration” Basha said. “We are grateful to Chancellor Merkel for her constant support and understanding.”

The Democratic Party chairman said that citizens of Albania will embrace all values of European Union and increase efforts to fight organized crime, drug trafficking and corruption, as well as cut ties of politics with crime.
