Berisha determined for pay and pension raises

TIRANA, July 5 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha is continuing with his daily agenda and has recently been focused on the success of pay and pension increases.
In fact, these items were the priority of the recent Democratic Party parliamentary group Monday.
Berisha said that the salary and pension increase “has been the main pillar of our platform at a time when the global and European economy were in their day, but we also kept the promise even during the deepest crisis that Europe and the world faced since the 1930s until present.”
“Naturally, the European crisis has had an impact on the Albanian economy,” he continued. “But it never slid into recession.”
Berisha has continuously claimed that the tiny western Balkan country has not been affected and even boasted of having growth each year, though last year it was minimal– about three percentءnd much lower than that of some years ago.
He has pledged that the country will again have a growth of five percent this year, though the International Monetary Fund says it will be less than three percent.
Berisha boasts that Albania has “the most open economy to law, principles, and barriers. But, it is also a competitive economy as reduction of bureaucratic barriers has created a friendly climate for the business and FDI.”
