TIRANA, May 15 – Prime Minister Sali Berisha has been pressurized from one of his coalition partners to move from the post some of its leaders following an internal political fight at the Christian Democratic Party. Its leader Nard Ndoka is Health Minister while two other senior leaders, Zef Bushati and Anton Gurakuqi are vice ministers.
They are now divided into two groups accusing each other of unfair political fight, of corruption, other political ‘calamities’ and have in practice created two separate political groupings.
Both sides have asked Berisha to move the other from the post.
Berisha has recently launched his cabinet meetings with jokes, in difficulty to which side to keep. The premier has also said that he intends to nominate his deputy (after his former moved to the defense minister’s post) and it seems that fight is delaying his decision. Naturally he would like the slightest attention in a government reshuffle a year before the elections. (Tirana Times Staff)
