BIZA, July 12 – Some 500 Albanian army troops held a military exercise in the remote area of Biza, north of the capital Tirana, monitored by Defense Minister Arben Imami and all the top military personnel. It had been 15 years since the last military exercise was held in Biza, a place which the Minister said will turn into a valuable asset for the army. The military forces, supported by 50 transport vehicles, five ambulances and eight helicopters, held different exercises like those of the peacekeeping troops in international missions, and also search-and-rescue, emergency situations and natural disasters. Albania has been a NATO member for more than two years. Albania has 330 troops in Afghanistan as well as in other missions in Bosnia and elsewhere. It has also offered its port, airspace and airport facilities to NATO for its missions to Libya.
