TIRANA, Nov. 30 – Former Socialist Party MP and chairman of the newly-established LIBRA political party Ben Blushi said Wednesday that policymakers are hampering Albania’s European integration and victimizing citizens of Albania.

According to Blushi, the EU accession process has in fact generated delays due to the political fights in the country.

“The fog is denser today compared to one week ago. We are not experiencing a speed race toward European Union. Instead, we are facing a delay race, where the winner is defined by the number of mistakes and obstructive steps. The suspension of the Vetting Law, the phenomenon of marijuana cultivation, the high level of crime and corruption are some of the obstacles to the EU accession process,” Blushi said.

The chairman of Albania’s newest political party underlined that time has come to blame the policy-makers by holding them responsible for this process obstruction.
