TIRANA, Jan. 11 – Tirana prosecutor’s office has completed the investigation and has sent its files to the court for the three main people charged in the central Bank of Albania theft, discovered last summer, local media reported.
The investigation on charges has been completed for Ardian Bitraj, Mimoza Bruzia and Klevis Bejtaj, considered as the main accomplices in the theft of some $7 million of cash money at the reserve department of the Bank of Albania over the past four years.
Former bank governor Ardian Fullani and another senior official are also accused, together with a group of more than 20 former bank officials — primarily for dereliction of duty in not preventing the theft. Fullani is to be judged separately and the investigation on him has not been completed yet.
