TIRANA, Jan. 3 – In what is becoming a routine, border police in southern Albania have detained small groups of undocumented migrants from Africa sneaking into Albania from Greece.
Last week police in southern Gjirokaster detained 11 immigrants crossing the border illegally. They were from Eritrea and Somalia. Police found them in Dervican village close to Gjirokaster.
Such migrants usually try to reach western Europe through Albania.
In such cases Albanian police normally turns them back from the origin country, which is neighboring Greece.
