TIRANA, July 19 – Police reported they arrested three persons, aged 20 to 50 years old, after finding a big cache of weapons. They are accused of producing and distributing weapons illegally.
Police found ten weapons, three grenades and some 1,600 rounds of ammunition. They were arrested while trying to transport such weapons.
There are still hundreds of thousands of weaponry and ammunition in Albania after its army depots were looted in 1997 with the fall of the government after the collapse of the failed pyramid investment schemes.
