TIRANA, Nov. 17 – The official census to be finished next year has already started and it is good news in terms of unemployment as it has temporarily hired 7,000, mainly young people.
The census is to be held next year just ahead of the local elections in May.
The census is also to include the ethnicity and religious affiliation of Albanians, a move that has been criticized by some historians and experts.
The last census held in 2002 did not include those questions.
