LONDON, July 26 – British media reported that Dana Rosu, 23, who sparked a massive bomb alert on a North Sea oil rig, has had all charges against her dropped. She was charged with breach of the peace after she caused a major evacuation of her accommodation platform.
Office clerk Rosu, who comes from Albania, was remanded to a psychiatric hospital for assessment in February after appearing in court. She was later freed on bail.
Reports at the time said she sparked the evacuation of the Safe Scandinavia platform by claiming she had been told in a dream that there was a bomb on board.
This became the largest security alert in the history of the North Sea oil industry. It cost authorities ñmillion and another ômillion was lost when gas production on the rig was shut down.
