China donates computers for IT labs

TIRANA, June 4 – China has donated computers and IT equipment that will help establish 6 laboratories in two public universities in Tirana. The donation which includes more than 90 computers and other IT equipment is worth around USD 1 million and will be used to set up labs in the faculties of the University of Tirana and the Polytechnic university of Tirana.
Speaking at the donation ceremony last week, Chinese Ambassador to Tirana Ye Hao referred to Albania’s early friendship considering the donation as a continuation and strengthening of ties between the two countries.
Albania’s Innovation and IT Minister Genc Pollo said the assistance was in the frame of China’s support to the ICT-school project which has equipped every compulsory education and high school with computer labs and internet access.
The Chinese Ambassador pledged the signing of a deal on tourism that will increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting Albania.
