Council of Europe to monitor local elections

TIRANA, April 12 – The Council of Europe has also sent a delegation to observe the election situation in Albania.
The pre-election delegation was made up of three persons: Hana Richtermocova from Czech Republic, Michel Guegan from France and Mamuka Abuladze from Georgia. They met with Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto, Central Election Commission head Arben Ristani and other personalities in the country.
The Council of Europe will bring a group of observers during the days of the May 8 elections.
Richtermocova said after meeting with Ristani that they were observing with attention the election situation in Albania.
“We are in Albania to help the local elections of May 8th” Richtermocova said.
