TIRANA, Nov. 23-  Ambassadors of the Czech Republic in the Western Balkans region, plus Slovenia and Croatia, are holding the first Regional Conference in Tirana during 22 – 24 November 2017.  Tirana was chosen as the conference venue due to its growing importance in the region, the Czech embassy in Tirana said in a statement.

In the framework of the conference, the Ambassadors were received by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, Ditmir Bushati, with whom they discussed the importance of regional cooperation and the European perspective of the Western Balkans. The Ambassadors also visited the premises of the Western Balkans Fund and talked about the perspective of the WBF with Gjergj Murra, Director of the Fund.

The Czech Republic is one of the keenest supporters of the EU enlargement, but says criteria and requirements will have to be met by aspirant countries.
