Defense Minsiter talks of Kosova in France

TIRANA, June 18 – Defense Minister Fatmir Mediu visited Paris where Kosova was the main topic of discussion, according to the minsitry.
Mediu took part in the 24th international conference on world security issues held in Paris, with the participation of foreign and defense minsiters from NATO member countries and security experts.
The conference discussed major issues such as Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East.
Security in the Balkans was also an important topic for Mediu who presented a speech. In a question and answer session, Mediu spoke about the situation in Kosova and the process of its status.
”Kosova’s future is independence according to Ahtisaari’s package. That is the best solution for the whole Balkans. The final status would significantly improve efficiency and governing capaicties in Kosova through a continuous commitment from the international community,” said the minister.
Albania’s hope of joining NATO next year was another topic of discussion.
