Drink poisoning brings debate on standards of alcohol production

TIRANA, Jan.15- The debate about safety standards in the local production of alcohol has resurfaced after the recent incident in which two people lost their lives in Durres. Their death was due to methyl alcohol found by investigators on a wine bottle. The wine was brought from Rumbullaku and was home produced. The history of unsafe alcohol production in Albania has resulted in previous deaths due to high level of toxic ingredients.
