TIRANA, Nov. 15 – Police continue to focus on fighting illegal drug trafficking.
Arjan Korca, 44, was arrested after police found 290 grams of cocaine.
Korca, a former basketball player, had gone to the hospital due to pains in his stomach. Doctors found some strange items in his stomach after a surgery. They also told police.
The cocaine was packed in 41 small bags which Korca had allegedly swallowed.
police continue investigation to find other collaborators with Korca.
Korca had made a trip to a Latin America country.
In another operation in capital Tirana police arrested two persons after found with 25.6 kilograms of cannabis sativa.
They were arrested while trying to transport the drugs from Linza near the capital.
In southwestern Vlora police also blocked 250 kilograms of cannabis and arrested Bektash Kalaj, 36, while he was driving a truck.
