TIRANA, July 25 – Albania is one of the 128 countries which can benefit from a trade regime without custom fees for 3,500 products that can be exported to America. Many of the products such as vegetables and processed fruits, mineral water, medicinal plants, spices or minerals and much more which are produced and processed in the country are on a list of products that can be exported in America with preferential treatment.
This is made possible under the Generalized System Preferences (GSP) program. The USAID Agriculture Competitiveness Program and the American Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the American Embassy in Tirana organized this week an informative meeting regarding the application of the Generalized System of Preferences for Albanian exports.
Bill Jackson, Deputy United States Trade Representative for the GSP program, was present at the meeting to give explanations to all the interested businesses.
