TIRANA, Jan. 21 – Albanian newspapers reported from official sources in the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Telecommunication that the country’s third mobile phone operator, Eagle Mobile, will begin operating in Albania on March 1.
Eagle Mobile will be the third mobile operator to enter the mobile communications market in Albania, currently occupied by Vodafone and AMC.
Mobile communication rates are expected to fall significantly, all as a results of increased competitiveness.
Authorities are likely preparing to introduce a fourth competitor in the mobile communications market immediately after Eagle Mobile.
