TIRANA, Feb. 17 – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which supports all former-communist states in Southeast Europe, is organizing a high-level regional forum on investing in the Western Balkans. It will bring together prime ministers, government ministers, political decision-makers and leading entrepreneurs, including Albania’s Edi Rama.

The event is organized by EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti and will have the participation of European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule.

Four separate panels will discuss regional projects and opportunities for investment in energy, transport, and corporates, as well as ways to improve investment climate.

The aim of the forum is to highlight potential investment and business opportunities in the region and promote the inflow of foreign direct investment and cross-border projects.

The conference will provide a unique opportunity for a far-reaching exchange of views to bridge the gap between political commitment and real regional projects.
