TIRANA. Nov. 21 – As part of an EU program for investment in regional infrastructure, the Interreg-IPA II Program, Greece-Albania 2014-2020, four Albanian counties will receive 42 million euros from the European Union.
The ceremony for the launch of the project was held in the southwestern port city of Vlore.
The project will cover 11 border regions in Greece and four in Albania — Vlore, Berat, Korce and Gjirokaster.
It will focus in a few priorities like environment protection, support to the sustained transport, public infrastructure and promoting local economies.
Albania has moved from IPA I (2007-2013) program to the IPA II (2014-2020) stage. The country is benefiting from eight projects in total with EU funding.
