TIRANA, Nov. 1 – The Agriculture Ministry with assistance from the European Union will offer financial help to all the farmers who suffered damages from the floods in February this year.

Minister Edmond Panariti said that an agreement will be signed with Brussels on such a reimbursement.

The minister said the bloc would give a 4-million-euro grant, adding they had already identified the damaged farmers and the payment would be made directly to them.

Another 2 million euro aid package from Brussels will be spent for investment in infrastructure and a flood-warning system, the minister added.

Most of the flooding affected agricultural land in southern Albania.
