Ex senior officials indicted on abuse of post charges

TIRANA, Oct. 28 – The Interior Ministry reported it had launched the investigation process and had accused five former senior officials of the institution of abuse of post.
The ministry said that they are accused of abusing with hundreds of millions of leks with illegal moves and actions damaging the public budget.
These indictments are among hundreds resting with in file at the prosecutors’ offices in the country.
Following coming into power and creating the government in September last year, the new leftist coalition has started the investigation of the abuse with the public money from their predecessors.
Consequently they have indicted more than 300 former senior officials of abuse of post. But until now none of them has been sent to the court or sentenced.
