Extraditions, arrests of Albanians abroad

TIRANA, May 10 – Interpol Tirana reported that an Albanian named Agron Qurku, 38, was arrested in neighboring Greece and will be extradited to Albania. Qurku was under an international arrest warrant for a murder he has allegedly committed in 1997. A policeman was shot dead at Qafe e Gjashtes during the anarchic year. He has also been sentenced to nine years imprisonment form the Saranda district court for theft at a bank in Delvina, Saranda district. He will be extradited following the proper procedures between authorities in both countries.
Besnik Kulla, 30, was arrested in Florence, Italy and now is awaiting extradition procedures. An international arrest warrant was issued for the person, who also used two other names.
Based on an international rest warrant Italian authorities also arrested Meriklant Djaloshi, 30, and will later extradite him home. In 2008 the Durres court had sentenced him to one year in prison and 600,000 leks for falsifying passports and other Italian documents introduced at the Italian embassy in Tirana by different people. He committed that rime together with his father Jak Djaloshi.
