Fighting drug traffic remains focus of police work

TIRANA, Jan. 11 – Police have continued their daily work in fighting drug traffic around the country.
In capital Tirana they arrested two persons in Lapraka quarter after finding 2.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa. They were suspected of trying to sell it at the students’ campus.
Another person was arrested in capital Tirana found with 180 kilograms of cannabis sativa. It is believed the drug would be taken in neighboring countries. the suspect had been sentenced before in Germany on drug trafficking.
In northern Rreshen town police arrested a person after finding in his coffee bar some small plastic bags with cannabis prepared to be sold. Another person was arrested after found with some 26 grams of cannabis in his car.
Following a five-month investigation in southern Gjirokastra police arrested two persons who were trying to cross the border with Greece with some 150 kilograms of cannabis sativa. It is believed that the two arrested persons are the organizers of the illegal traffic in the southern area close to the Greek border.
