VLORA, Aug. 24 – Italian Guardia di Finanza boats found the “Centaur 2” Albanian fishing boat and three fishermen who were lost in the seas for six days following a defect in the engine. Captain Qazim Nazri said the defect did not allow them to switch on the engine. But they had no tools to let the port know about them. Ship radio and their cell phones did not work.
They used other primitive methods like putting fire to tires but useless. “We did not lose hope and knew that families and state persons were looking for us,” said captain Nazri. When they were discovered by the Guardia di Finanza they were some 10 miles southwest of Gjuheze Cape at the Karaburun peninsula where winds had taken them. The ship had left the port of Zv쳮ec Aug. 18.
